Now that’s a concert poster you gotta get.

Wease im interested in what you do working these concerts. I know you’ve explained it before but don’t remember. Do you typically work the same area each time? Move around and do different jobs depending on demand? Does it pay pretty decent for a night of work? Ever have to deal with concert dickheads?

We work concessions

Sometimes same booth, but never guaranteed. Obviously there are booths we prefer but we’re not in control of that

Some things pay well, others don’t. The Shania Twain show we worked earlier this year has been the best payout we’ve had, being just shy of $400 each. It was the first concert ever at the soccer stadium in Nashville. Tonight’s GnR show is the second. So everyone is kinda expecting around the same payout. Personally, I think it will be more due to the fact I think this will be a crowd to which we’ll sell more alcohol.

We get a base pay for each different venue we work. Then, all of the tips that are collected by our company are divvied up between each of us that works the event. Typically the more alcohol you sell, the more tips that are collected. Thus, my thinking about tonight.

Personally, I haven’t had to deal with any dickheads. I’m hardly ever dealing in person with the public or running a register. Oh, I take that back. I did have a colossal dick when we worked the grab-and-go one time. They had raised the prices on some of the beers and didn’t change the signing. Obviously at our level, we have no way of changing how anything rings up. So we had to call a supervisor. He was nice enough to us but when the supervisor got there he was a Royal Douche. Just showing his ass all over the place. And there was no need to. They had already told him they would honor the old price for him. So we got him taken care of and they promptly changed the signage and said if he comes back he’s paying the updated price and if he throws a fit call them and they’ll throw his ass out. Never saw him again.
