Destiny

Post by Ensign9 »

I'm a longtime Destiny vet despite its continued shortcomings in the storytelling department. Sad to say Lightfall (out today) might be their worst campaign in terms of writing, art design, and mission mechanics. Yikes.

Always loved the art design of these games. That said, I'm glad I never touched them. Grind/subscription based games are a thing of the past for me.

D1 one of my most played games ever, but never fully got into D2. Though I do hope to one day, I've got all the downloads for it.

You’d be hopelessly confused if you tried to play D2 today. It’s a mess for new players. This latest season has been a step up narratively for continuing players. They also released an updated version of Crota’s End this past weekend.

That could very well be. I've played 25 hours on the Xbox, and 5 hours on the Playstation.

Final Shape was good but the current state of D2 is pretty grim. Bungie have made wrong turn after wrong turn - Marathon better be amazing.

Live service = death. There will never be enough content, let alone content that lives up to Bungie’s storied—and now all too distant—past.

There's more than enough content for me as a solo player but there are people out there playing twelve hours a day, there's no way Bungie can keep them happy.

Heresy turned out to be pretty damn good.

They just announced the next year of Destiny expansions. Sounds relatively interesting but not quite enough to get me pumped up about it.

Take a wild guess! ;)

Battleground "strikes" = instant skip and I don't do many playlist activities anymore. When I am playing these days, I tend to focus on the seasonal activities and dungeons. My clan fell apart a few years back to due its founder getting caught cheating on his wife with another clan member (can't make this up) so my raid days are mostly behind me.

Clans can be such a huge headache, sounds like you hit the motherlode there. :o

If we're awake at the same time over the next couple weeks we can run the Prophecy dungeon (re-released yesterday) as part of the Rite of Nine or we can catch some of the new big expansion dropping soon.
