Reminds of those two boneheads that sat behind us in St Louis last year. They sit down 3 songs from the end and say “at least we didn’t miss all of it.” They’d been in the merch line the entire show.

I saw a post on Reddit yesterday that got downvoted to oblivion in the PJ sub. Dude said his way of thwarting the long merch wait was to go to the front of the line and offer the next customer $20 cash to buy the poster for him. What does the RM mind say about that - yay or nay?

To me $20 is worth it to go get inside and drink more overpriced warm mid-strength beer. All I would want is the poster anyway.

(To be fair I'm in Aus and so this isn't so much of a thing here - the merch lines are usually far less drastic here anyway).

That's how I get my merch. I pay up. I don't mind, I think it's great. So does the other party.

I like the look of the main set quite a bit, and there are some things about the encore I really like—Not For You is a great encore song. Surrender sounds like a terrible closer, though.

my years of being rightfully critical of the band (and cynical) paid off. i went in with the lowest of expectations, and they were far and away exceeded. the setlist was very good, and i'm glad i got to hear the new songs. and for the most part the band sounded pretty tight (retrograde was all over the place though).

last night was the first night i was reminded just how old the band, and we, are. at one point in the night, my wife turned to me and said "they started the show sitting down, dedicated songs to two dead people, and acknowledged being over 50 twice." yikes.

man, eddie likes to talk. at times he reminds me of my 77 year old dad because he just rambles on and on. in the past i would find that enduring, but on a tuesday night . . .

all in all, though, great show.

N4U was actually weird in the encore. Eddie and the crowd were already in full singalong mode for it, and it just didn’t hit right. Took all the piss and vinegar out of it.

I thought it was a great show - setlist had a few surprises that I really enjoyed. Best time I've had at a show since probably the 2014 tour. And ending with Surrender allowed us to beat a hasty retreat, and catch the first bus back to the blue line.

I will say, though - it's probably a good thing that they're taking a day off before night two. Not only do I need some time to rest, but they need today to clean up the arena from the lyrics Ed was dropping all over the place.
