For my money his work over the past 10 years pales in comparison to what he did in the 10 years prior
Carrie & Lowell is his best work
It’s perfect.
+1.

i can't wait to see them in october. they really scratch an itch for me.

and i think that that single is their best from what they've released from the new album.

I like the others as well. I've been listening to their self-titled album a bunch over the last week. Been on a shoegaze kick in general.

I am really, really enjoying the new Jeff Rosenstock. It's like a classic Bomb the Music Industry album. Super energetic, wild arrangements, catchy melodies, humorous and emotional lyrics, moments of unguarded romanticism.

I'm a sucker for this stuff. Sounds like a Danish Karnivool. Or perhaps Karnivool were an Aussie VOLA?

Either way, extremely big and dumb rock/metal utilizing Warwick basses. :D

I swear to God I'm overjoyed with them, they're beautiful! I haven't heard a lot of Karnivool but they're often mentioned alongside these modern prog metal bands that tend to be Scandinavian

these are the bands I've gone to instead of continuing to moan about Matt's drumming lol; they're the best in the biz rhythmically

the lyrics get better with interrogation as well; I love the sci-fi / folk horror well that VOLA draws from, it's a weird mix but they make it work
