Re: The Rolling Fuckin' Stones
Did Watt use pitch correction all over Mick's vocals?!
It sounds terrible.
This is all very foreboding for the new Pearl Jam record.

Haven't listened with headphones, i was never hoping for an excellent sounding new PJ record with Watt behind the board......
But i dont mind this song as a song. That bass is cool, slightly distorted, pumping through. Good guitar interplay.

I like it. I am not going to expect a gritty 70s album from them at this point, but this does the trick for now. My only disappointment is comparing this to Living in a Ghost Town, which I really liked a lot. Hopefully the direction they are going incorporates a lot of those elements too.

Though looks like he's on Live by the Sword and Mess It Up.

It sounds very small and flat

It sounds like a demo they compiled via dropbox, and no one had any ideas.
joostone‘s description of it as an AI Stones song is still the most accurate.

Re: The Rolling Fuckin' Stones
I kind of like the song. It grew on me as it went along. There's a few somewhat hooky hooks in there.
But production-wise, yikes. The sound of the drums is the worst offender, and I don't like what's going on with the vocals. Everything sounds harsh and thin, but also with that big glossy pop sheen. And I'm guessing a generous helping of brickwall?
But still, the song's not bad!

It does sound like what a Stones song is supposed to sound like, but frankly after 18 years, I don’t mind that.
