Re: What movies are you watching?
Saw Blade Runner 2049 for only a second time, and it was a much better experience than in the cinema on a second date in 2017. 4dx as well, with wind, water and a moving chair. Awful concept.
Really enjoyed it, and fully got the story. Both a standalone film, and a briliant sequel at the same time. Villeneuve gets the mood, the colors, the music, the story and the characters right.
I think the main complaints are either that the story was boring/slow and/or nonsensical, or that the characters felt flat.
I didn’t think it were boring either time, thought the movie made sense, and think the right choice was made for the characters.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I’m a big fan of the original as well.tragabigzanda wrote:I like 2049 much more than the original. That’s what I should have done, instead of 4dx, but my date bought the tickets.VinylGuy wrote:I love BR 2049, saw it on Imax and it was a mesmerizing experience
Watching at home was fine though.

BR2049 is such an odd choice for 4DX

Hehe, wouldn’t call her a turd. She had a lot of great qualities (lawyer in her mid 30s, funny, smart, similar taste in music). But I did eventually lose interest. Met my wife a few months later.tommy wrote:Did you dump that turd?Anders wrote:That’s what I should have done, instead of 4dx, but my date bought the tickets.VinylGuy wrote:I love BR 2049, saw it on Imax and it was a mesmerizing experience

Re: What movies are you watching?
Only The Brave is a well told movie about true events, showing courage, dedication and loyalty in extreme conditions. A slow burn with a stellar cast. The ending is terrible, but also well made.

The turtles movie was good. Great animation style and the score was really cool.
Back home now and I've thrown on Convoy. Peckinpah, Kris Kristofferson and Ernest Borgnine - what more could you ask for?

Is there a better smile in movie history than Ernest Borgnine?
