Total nonsense, just to note I was at the last Springsteen concert. Wow. (Until next year, fingers crossed!)

I saw him play and met him just two months ago
I don’t reckon he’s long for the world tbh.
They’ll be a dark dark horrible day.

Did he tell you something we don't know or something? This seems like a fairly routine/minor thing.dimejinky99 wrote:I saw him play and met him just two months ago

Re: Bruce Springsteen
Yeah, I don’t get the sense this is a big deal. I think what may be jarring for Springsteen fans, having not seen that much of him over the last 6 years, is that he, like any other 70+, shows signs of slowing down a bit, of some muscle loss from a guy who was in really good shape. He looks great for 74, and I have no doubt he’ll be fine, but he’s still 74. Between that and a show designed for his listeners to grapple with mortality, it can sure feel like the end is near. I think he’s trying to send this message about life before his own gets past the point of being able to effectively communicate in the way he wants to be able to.

If I didn't know Bruce Springsteen much at all, where should I start?

Re: Bruce Springsteen
I would say Born to Run then the Wild, the Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle. It took me years to spend adequate time with his other albums because these two were so good.Leatherhead wrote:If I didn't know Bruce Springsteen much at all, where should I start?
If you are looking for drama and a giant sweeping sound, Born to Run is it. If you want more unpolished Springsteen with the band sounding maybe the best they’ll ever sound on album then The Wild, the Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle is the way to go. Either way, can’t lose.

Re: Bruce Springsteen
Born to Run is the correct answer. Though personally I think The Wild… is one of his worst albums so I wouldn’t recommend going there so soon. Born in the USA is a better follow up.

Re: Bruce Springsteen
The only 3 Springsteen albums I have are Nebraska, The Ghost of Tom Joad and Western Stars - and they're all great!
