Re: What bootleg are you listening to?
Dusseldorf 07 was on Sirius this afternoon; first I had heard of the non-Chicago shows from that year. Not very good sound quality for a show that's only five years old; like it was in a warehouse from 1996.

I presume it was just an audience recording in that case.
I'm sure the band recorded that show (like all their others), they just didn't release official bootlegs that year.

Still feeling the 1998 love. I wore this out when we first got it. It was the only SBD from this tour in circulation as I remember it.

Listened to part of Calgary '11 on the Sirius coming to work. The best Even Flow I had heard in a long while.

Ed sure loved hitting his 'R's' really hard in 98, didn't he?

So, Ed's never actually known the words to Lukin, huh?

I know them. It is hard. I couldn't do it with a bootle of wine in me. I wonder, does anyone know of a version where he just nails it?

And he had a lyric sheet for that one. And he changed the words a bit. You know, because Beth never existed anymore.

Re: What bootleg are you listening to?
I'm listening to the 9-16-98 show from Boston.
Just before Given to Fly, Ed dedicates the song to the brother and sister of a "John" that they lost. Ed is real emotional during GTF and then again pretty much all through Dissident. The Dissident is so raw and emotional it might be my favorite performance of the song.
Do we know who John is? Anyone else have the chance to hear this dissident?

Guys, the mixing on the few 2012 boots we have is actually really well done imo.

Isn't there only one missing show, the Midtown Music one? The whole Euro tour and the rest of the US shows are available.E.H. Ruddock wrote:Guys, the mixing on the few 2012 boots we have is actually really well done imo.
Anyway, yes - I think they sound fantastic. Band performance aside, I think they're probably the best sounding PJ bootlegs ever.

No, the Midtown one is Atlanta, that is out. It's the Made In America one from Philly, where they did the song with Jay-Z.Birds in Hell wrote:Isn't there only one missing show, the Midtown Music one? Ah, that's what I meant - I get the names mixed up. I should've just stuck with "the one with Jay-Z", which is what I was originally going to write.E.H. Anyway, I like the sound of the bootlegs a lot. The 24bit files are really great.
