Any mention of Matt or did he get the Dave A treatment?

If the band didn’t include him in the HoF ceremony, i think we’re past the “bury the hatchet” hope with Dave A. It ain’t happening

Sure, but it'll also never end, nor is that fan dynamic in any way unusual from my experience with other bands.CopperTom wrote:I don't think it's hard to understand that it's never going to happen.Birds in Hell wrote:I don't it's that hard to understand.CopperTom wrote:Yes. Talking Heads made the news this week just by being in the same room for the first time in decades.
I learned a few days ago that Garbage fans are super jazzed because the guy who played bass for them in the 90s (who wasn't even an official member) has returned to the band.

Ultimately, spending just wants to relive the days where he loved the band by seeing dave a back there. Unfortunately, if that'd happen, he'd then just talk about how bad the rest of the band is and how bad Ed sounds and it'll ultimately be disappointing for him. Stone doesn't sound or play the same way anymore. Etc. etc.
Also dave a has already said he wouldn't go back and play. "No thanks" i believe is what he said on Facebook when Matt Cameron was out last year.
Pearl Jam s who they are these days. I'm glad I still enjoy them.
Bring back dave a

I'm struggling with processing the show from last night. It was show #75 for me and might have been the worst.Birds in Hell wrote:Josh is a barely adequate drummer (at best), so I hope they’ve got somebody else lined up for the show(s) if Matt’s out.
The mix was terrible. We were front row of the floor seats, so in directly in between the stage and soundboard. I've sat in similar spots before but man, no bueno.
Ed was still getting over the flu; Mike seemed sick as well as he and Eddie were both drinking tea. Mike definitely went above and beyond, and Eddie did great considering the circumstances.
And no Matt due to covid. As soon as I saw the rumor on the Porch about Josh on drums...ugh. "Barely adequate" hit the nail on the head. I'm amazed at the praise heaped upon this show by some on Facebook and the Porch. I feel like we were at different shows. Josh supposedly knows the first 5 albums by heart? Could've fooled me. His performance felt like a band practice. Noticeable song starts were not hit. Half the endings of songs fell apart or were off. The middle of Satan's Bed was a trainwreck. The bootleg may be rough to listen to.
Kudos to Josh for filling in. A+ for effort. C- for execution.
Please, Matt, be there for the last 3 shows.

I sat in similar seats in St. Paul 1 and it sounded bad too. No stacks angled in that direction. A dead spot. It sounded much better the next night when I was in the seats.logan5ive wrote:I'm struggling with processing the show from last night. Re: 2023-09-13: Ft. Worth, TX
The mix wasn’t bad for us. We were at the back corner of the stage on Stone’s side. Basically right above where the band comes out from.
Other than blowing his nose all night, Ed didn’t really seem that bad. Vocals were ok, more energy than I would’ve had with the flu. (And with how much he was blowing his nose, I doubt it was a stomach bug). Everything was even tuned normally. Nothing down a half step. Quite shocked with that, actually.
Knocked out two albums within the first three tunes. Not bad! Finally got Oceans and All Those Yesterdays was a huge surprise. The rest of the set was tunes I’d already heard but some not in a long while and more than welcome.
On to Josh. He did a great job filling in. There were a few miscues, Satan’s Bed being the most egregious, but overall nothing that ruined any songs. Jeff missed a couple too and he just laughed his ass off. Both he and Stone were smiling at/with Josh all night. They seemed to have a good time. Josh did try and keep some tempos down to no avail. He started Not For You closer to the speed on the record and Ed was having none of it. Sped that fucker way up. The main thing I noticed with Josh is he played all those First Three songs with a lot of the flourishes and style that Dave A used to do. About the only one he really played the way Matt does was Corduroy. All that other stuff definitely had the Abbruzzese gravy on it. If they play Friday, that’ll probably either change or Josh won’t be sitting back there. I enjoyed hearing him play. After all the shows I’ve seen with Matt, it was fun hearing something different, but not.
The mercy line was the smoothest experience I’ve had in a while. We went to the booth right inside the entrance we used and there were maybe 30 people in line. There were about 50 or so in line at the truck outside. Our line went really quick and smooth and against my normal practice I bought the event shirt. They didn’t seem to be sold out of anything at our booth. Dad and I did confirm no 2nd date mercy is sold the day between shows, so back in line Friday we go.
And the highlight of he the evening was meeting and sharing time with dad and Mrs dad. Wonderfully delightful people. Dad is a purely stand up guy and Mrs dad is an absolute joy. Spent time at a great taco place across the street from the arena and continued on once we got inside. They’re the real deal.
The whole evening was a great experience from start to finish and hopefully (if it happens) Friday night will be much the same.
