I got 1.3 miles in 13 minutes, so i was on pace for a little longer then I've been able to be so far. I walked a bit then ran a bit more and walked the last 2 minutes to end up at 1.84 miles in 20 minutes

I'm really disgusting right now. In the past, if I was running with any sort of regularity, I could consume 4,000 calories a day and still lose weight. But in the last year, my metabolism has really hit the skids.
So as of today, I will start counting calories. I'll do my chicken soup diet, which I used for my half Ironman a couple of years ago.
I'm at 171 right now and my goal is to get down to 155 by April for a rim-to-rim-to-rim run at the Grand Canyon. I'd like to break 10 hours.

For me, it's the difference between struggling to run 7:30s and running sub-7s comfortably.

I realize this is probably  worthy for most people. But I'm approaching 40 and running is the one thing in life that I'm even kinda "good" at and I'd like to hang onto that for a few more years.

He's a hard core runner, so that's understandable.

I'm 6'2", and whenever I've dipped below 190, people tell me to go eat a cheeseburger.

I certainly could loose some excess weight that seems to follow me around due to the beer and bar food for post ski days....

The older I get the more wiggle room i would like as far as my weight goes. However, if I was 170 LBS people would get worried. I def don't have a runners build.

I'm use to running at 155 or 160. I basically took a year off after my first 24-hour race and put on 15 pounds, thinking I would shed it easily like I have always done. That's not happening. It may sound stupid, but imagine running with a 15-pound backpack and that's kinda what it feels like these day.

I sound like a little bitch!

Did a mile and a half in 20 minutes on the treadmill last night after my weights workout. I know that's not much for a lot of you but man are my upper legs feeling it today.
I'm a small guy too, 5 10 and in the low 160s. Most I've ever weighed is 168. When I do gain weight it always seems to be in my belly :(

Running is tough, im not doing the weighs before running and still only got 1.84 miles in 20 minutes last night, so you are doing good.

Im having a tough time with my feet lately, my ankle started giving me trouble yesterday morning, and on my other foot i stepped on a staple this morning and I've got a decent amount of pain from that, but im gonna try to run through it tonight

I think my legs are sore from the workout more so than the treadmil. Did a different routine with more lunges.
I left out that while I hated being skinny in high school/college middle aged me is just fine with it!

damn it i was so close, i got 1.8 miles in 18 minutes and finished my 20 minutes with 1.91 miles. i felt like i was ready to stop at 1 mile but kept going, got to 1.3 which i got last night and started to feel good so i kept going, when i got to 1.75 i knew i was gonna get 2 miles in 20 minutes, but then i got a damn cramp in the left side of my lower back and had to slow to a walk. o well, still my best run so far so im pretty happy with it.
