yes but it's not like you can't climb with a rope and still get virtually the same experience. the only factor they're adding is maximum (unnecessary) risk. It's like playing football without a helmet and only using your head to tackle, or masturbating your genitals while driving 100mph without a seatbelt ... yeah, you might be a great driver and masturbatour, but... why?! These people are just plain sick. no way around it
