So, Rey has more story to be written, but of those whose life we've seen mostly in full. Ashoka is easily the greatest Jedi. She had skill, foresight, endurance , and honor, at least one of which was lacking in all other contenders.

Clipping it to his Trooper outfit would have ruined the disguise. It's still with his regular clothes when they're I'm the compactor.

It is exactly a thing about movies that I wish I could have back. The difference in how the R2/Jawa scene plays out (in terms of goofiness vs mystery) is indicative of something that gets wiped away when you clean these things up.
