I take next year to mean June-November. Jeff said it takes 6 months to get the artwork done.

Re: 12th album rumors and speculation
Pressing vinyl takes months and months..
Having said that. All expectations about the songs, quality, production aside.. Im excited!
The Gigaton album cycle was heavily disrupted. But this time around Im hoping for a lot of interviews, tv-performances, promotions, full legs of touring etc.
The guys haven't done much of that in atleast 10 years and I think they understand that even they need to do some promotion every now and then.
With the avocado/Into the wild/backspacer run they were a bit more in the public eye. Something they deliberately did after perhaps some diminishing returns with Riot Act. For the first time since 1996 orso they did a full worldtour in 2006. For their last tours not every show sold out, so it's 2004 again for the boys...
Let the anticipation begin! We can bitch about the songs later

Re: 12th album rumors and speculation
Rest easy, friend -- this remark was not intended to serve as backhanded commentary on the diminishing vocal abilities of Eddie Fricking Vedder. I find his singing tough to take on the bootlegs, but I don't think he's de-railed a studio album yet (not because of his singing, anyway). I would just genuinely be interested to hear an instrumental PJ album, and I'm not enthusiastic enough about the band's new material to worry that such a novelty might come at the expense of something else I'd like better.RockPusher wrote:LOLKevin Davis wrote:This sounds like a possible best case scenario, unless two sides of instrumentals are on the table.VinylGuy wrote:one side of instrumentals

Re: 12th album rumors and speculation
Well when you put it like that I can mostly agree. I used to have cool bootleg cassettes of the instrumental demos before Ed added his singing. They were definitely missing something, but I wouldn't say no to more instrumentals!Kevin Davis wrote:Rest easy, friend -- this remark was not intended to serve as backhanded commentary on the diminishing vocal abilities of Eddie Fricking Vedder. Big Bottom soundgarden cover on Echo of Miles is top-10 all time music, much to Mozart's chagrin

when your singer is eddie vedder both instrumentals and songs sung by people who arent Mr. Vedder are borderline offensive. Thats what bsides and holiday singles are for

I wouldn't mind an instrumental or two. But a whole half of a double album? No thanks.

In MPEG, recorded with a boombox in the back of a rehearsal room and labelled as a studio demo outtake. It will be earth-shattering and an instant addition to the folder.tragabigzanda wrote:if only cockage would release "Some Kind of Free Form Jazz Odyssey"!

I'm predicting a March/April release with tour to follow. Probably some US dates, Euro dates, and US dates. Trying the whole 2020 album/touring cycle that never was.

Re: 12th album rumors and speculation
B-sides and holiday singles don't exist anymore. The only option is a full double album.stip wrote:when your singer is eddie vedder both instrumentals and songs sung by people who arent Mr. Vedder are borderline offensive. Thats what bsides and holiday singles are for
A full double album of instrumentals, that is -- though I wouldn't mind a double album comprising one volume of instrumentals and another volume of songs written and sung by Stone and Matt.
Although, an excellent idea like that would be wasted on Andrew Watt, so I'm good with them getting whatever hodgepodge of 2-3 spritzy punkers, 2-3 acoustic Eddie ditties, etc., out of their system before moving onto the more serious business of their instrumental/alt vocalists double album.
