Re: 2023 NFL Season
i watched the Manning brothers coverage of MNF on ESPN2 and it was pretty interesting
not just fighting for cheap laughs
they are both former superbowl winning Qbs so their gigabrains on identifying the plays / defense / offensive schemes etc is top notch
and very intense
i will prob watch that again instead of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman
also Will Ferrell joined at one point
a little odd that ESPN would do these at the same time and you have to choose / they compete
but whatevs

Re: 2023 NFL Season
I always choose the Manning cast unless my team is playing. Then I need the play-by-play now matter how awful it is.
Every sentence in my head, someone else has said.

Re: 2023 NFL Season
yeah i can see that. need a conventional broadcast for your own team. makes sense
was interesting watching Eli react to the Giants game ... he is still obv mega knowledgeable about them and wants (deeply) to see them win

I watched the Dallas/San Fran game last night. I thought Purdy was just a game manager, but holy shit, that guy was dropping dimes left and right all over the place. That dude can throw accurately.

Young top tier QB on a reasonable contract… Niners are poised to be the next dynasty if they don’t fuck it up. Plenty of cap to build great teams year after year.

Re: 2023 NFL Season
This is pretty accurate description of the shit show we have going on right now in New England. Quite the takedown.
https://www.nbcsportsboston.com/nfl/new ... bos_twt_mn
this section, ooof:
They’re not ready for seasons to begin. But take solace in the fact they’re also not ready for games to begin. This season, they’ve fallen behind in the first half to the Eagles (16-0), Dolphins (17-3), Cowboys (28-3) and Saints (21-0) for a combined 82-6. Eight-two. To six.
Which is part of a pattern that began after Thanksgiving last season. Belichick is serially unprepared and unbothered.
A partial list of things he wasn’t worried about as evidenced by words and/or actions over the past few years: Benching Malcolm Butler, alienating Tom Brady, trading Rob Gronkowski (he tried; Gronk refused), not paying Tom Brady, having a succession plan for Tom Brady, drafting tight ends and wide receivers, over-drafting middling tight ends and wide receivers, overpaying in free agency for middling tight ends and wide receivers when the drafted ones flame out, losing Josh McDaniels, finding a replacement for Josh McDaniels, installing an experienced offensive coordinator/play-caller for Mac Jones, drafting offensive tackles, spending free agent money on offensive tackles, creating an offense around a stationary quarterback.
Now, we can add “starting over in mid-October” to the list.

Belichick is past his prime. He’s thru. His next call should be retirement.
Let me tell you, Homer Simpson is cock of nothing!
