so how did you leave things? what does that mean for you going forward with (a) your current job, and (b) with your prospects of this new job (i mean, do you want to work with/for someone like that?)?

He wasn't mad. He said I'll be making less money there, we'll be sad to see you go.

That interview is Friday. I might be getting a different job offer on Friday too. The current person will be formally fired and possibly arrested on Thursday.

My replacement at my last job committed theft and fraud. So she will be fired on Thursday. In doing so, she may have given me an enormous raise - I mean, you can't put a price on honesty, can you. I helped them with a filing that was due and discussed the numbers of my potential return. I may be receiving a contract offer on Friday. I'm supposed to give 60 day notice at my current job. That's a long time to goof off for.

I’m so confused. You have an interview for your old job?

The interview is separate from that story. 2 things might happen on Friday - interview for a job I've never had and a contract offer from my old employer.

Ahh. Pulling for you to get a juicy offer from your old employer, which also means you can stick it to the guy who ratted you out instantly to your current employer.

There is a hog in me . . . a snout and a belly . . . a machinery for eating and grunting . . . a machinery for sleeping satisfied in the sun—I got this too from the wilderness and the wilderness will not let it go.

There is an eagle in me and a mockingbird . . . and the eagle flies among the Rocky Mountains of my dreams and fights among the Sierra crags of what I want . . . and the mockingbird warbles in the early forenoon before the dew is gone, warbles in the underbrush of my Chattanoogas of hope, gushes over the blue Ozark foothills of my wishes—And I got the eagle and the mockingbird from the wilderness.

O, I got a zoo, I got a menagerie, inside my ribs, under my bony head, under my red-valve heart—and I got something else: it is a man-child heart, a woman-child heart: it is a father and mother and lover: it came from God-Knows-Where: it is going to God-Knows-Where—For I am the keeper of the zoo: I say yes and no: I sing and kill and work: I am a pal of the world: I came from the wilderness.
