New previously unheard live show from 1978 is now up on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/4qx1sfEn ... FiTqnUHSNw
Sounds great. Really captures the intensity of the early days of the Attractions.

Re: Elvis Costello
hahaha, the part where you mention RM as "a message board for a band that shall remain nameless", you say "that shall remain nameless" like you're very serious about not talking about it and you're warning the guy not to dare ask you about it or else

Damn Jorge! What a great listen.Jorge wrote:Some stupid asshole rambling about EC: https://dangerousamusements.co.uk/listen/jorge-farah/
I also dug the recommendations. I would add Paté de Fuá and maybe Él Mató a un Policía Motorizado (I know Paté is not entirely from Argentina, but they're right up Costello's dixieland jazzy stuff).
Solid.

Re: Elvis Costello
Thanks man!
El Mató / the whole Laptra scene is cool. I don't see a whole lot of parallels with EC but I do like them.
I've actually never heard of Paté de Fuá... I'll look into them

Re: Elvis Costello
I just found this version of "Tripwire" from one of the remix releases... same vocal and new backing by Menahan Street Band. Beautiful stuff.

Had never heard of this so I just YouTubed it -- even the non-decent version is pretty nice! Looks like it's a Cat Stevens cover from a movie?Buby wrote:Still on the hunt for a decent version of "Sitting"
Edit: also really liked the "Tripwire" remix that Jorge posted above.

Yes, I believe it's from The Invention of Lying. No official release has been made available.

Nice! I hadn’t realized it had been nearly 3 years since The Boy Named If. Love the single.
