The Final Girls is one of my favorite recent slashers. Really emotional. I think it made me cry when I first watched.

Is that based on the book?

Just from the start, 2022 had X and a more stronger rendition of Scream. Then Barbarian, Nope which was great, Pearl, Smile, Prey, the Hellraiser remake, Men, Resurrection, Huesera, Manticore, Project Wolf Hunting, Halloween Ends, which everybody hate but I love, that Marvel werewolf movie with Gael Garcia, Moon Knight and Dr Strange 2, Bones and All, Bodies Bodies Bodies, Terrifier 2, Deadstream, Hatching, You Wont Be Alone, Fresh, Speak No Evil, Skinamarink and The Outwaters. And even though I didnt loved it, Crimes of the Future, which gave us amazing visual and concepts.

2022 was a really really excellent year for horror.

We watched Crimson Peak. I appreciated the effort it was really beautiful to look at but the story was blah. My wife really liked it though.

Barbarian is great. The first mainstream horror film that takes genre tropes and uses them to create a metaphorical explanation of feminism without resorting to obnoxious sociology 101 lectures that break you out of the moment. A rare feat in modern cinema.

me and my partner are currently watching Close Encounters of the Third Kind; they haven't seen it before, I've seen it hundreds of times but DEAR DAMN LORD it's not lost a single bit of its effectiveness

Going to be watching Prey soon, this tid-bit was nice to read 'When the Predator types on its wrist gauntlet, it corresponds with the Close Encounters of the Third Kind theme.'

Fair point. I actually really liked Hannibal. I suppose anything can be good in the right hands.

I really can't imagine ANYONE really feels there is enough foundation to warrant anything like this.

I’m a sucker for the movies and so far the only one that I truly can’t tolerate watching is Resurrection, so I’ll watch whatever shit they put out. Although I have to say, Ends really tested my tolerance.

The Zombie pair and the last three really killed it for me personally.

I've never fought found horror TV shows very interesting. It's too long to stretch the tension.

As a straight narrative I'd tend to agree. Serial or anthology horror series, well those are where it is at for me.
