Re: Frasier
First two episodes of the revival dropped yesterday. Don’t know why they didn’t get the same kid to play Frederick. That guy’s still active. The premise is pretty interesting. Since he’s back in Boston, really hoping some Cheers alumni shows up. Especially since Niles and Daphne are gonna be on it. Their kid is the obvious substitute for him. Martin is missed. Overall, it was enjoyable and nice to catch up with an old friend.

Re: Frasier
I thought neither of them (Niles or Daphne) will be on it. I think I just read about the other day that both actors declined when they were asked to be part of the 'revival'. Edit: or did you just miss "not" from "are gonna be on it"?wease wrote:First two episodes of the revival dropped yesterday. Don’t know why they didn’t get the same kid to play Frederick. Should’ve been aren’t or are not. My mistake.contamination wrote:I thought neither of them (Niles or Daphne) will be on it. Re: Frasier
Well I was probably the only one not getting it right away. It's nice to hear that the first episodes weren't horrible. I wasn't really impressed with the trailer but I'm definitely going to check this out.wease wrote:Should’ve been aren’t or are not. Re: Frasier
As a fan of the original I want the revival to be good but not getting my hopes up. I don’t have Paramount+ so I will only watch the two episodes CBS is airing this week.

Re: Frasier
So I watched the first two episodes and was pleasantly surprised. The first episode felt very pilot-y but after setting up the supporting cast it turn out enjoyable enough and the second episode felt more settled in. Kelsey Grammar hasn’t lost his touch.
The father/son plotting is obviously a twist from the original series and it’s even called out as such in the second episode. There’s no Niles but conveniently enough his son, the one born in the Frasier finale, is there to fill that character role. The writing and timing does have the feel of the original. There is potential here, my biggest complaint is the laugh track needs to be toned down.
Ten episode season, concluding with Christmas. There will be a Lilith episode, which right there could be the highlight of the run. I know the reboot has gotten mixed reviews, and I was definitely “wait & see” but I liked how it’s starting out.

Re: Frasier
I went in with very low expectations and enjoyed both eps as well. Second ep definitely hitting some classic Frasier notes.

Re: Frasier
Third episode got more overall laughs and was, I feel, a stronger episode. Frazier’s old friend/office mate has gotten all the best lines so far.

Re: Frasier
Signed up for Paramount+ for three months to watch the series. I figure it’s worth the $6 promo price.

It’s actually gotten better with each episode. The last three were top notch.

Excellent season finale. Overall, a worthy addition to the Frasier canon and I greatly look forward to a second season.

Re: Frasier
The season was..alright. I wanted to really like it but it wasn’t awful by any means. The last episode tried to reach the farcical level the original pulled off so well so many times. The Lilith episode disappointed, again high hopes that weren’t quite met.
I like the Freddy and Alan characters, their scenes with Frasier were consistently the best of the series. The two new female characters both seemed sitcom 101 as did the scenes set in the classroom or with Freddy’s coworkers. They haven’t figured out what to do with the nephew character yet either.
I would like expect another season and there are certainly some good elements. I’d give the reboot a B- , better than middling but room for improvement.
