Honestly haven’t had a piece of media almost induce a panic attack on me like that ever.

Rerun of several christmases past. If none so relentless.

The following episode with Richie was worth it. Beautiful.

One of the absolute most perfect 1-2 punches to ever be on television.

I made the mistake of checking out the Bear subreddit. Bunch of weird legbeards "shipping" characters and people "in the industry" calling bullshit on minute details.

People are just the worst.

I’ve never seen a minute of that show so I’m safe from that.

I’m dumb as a brick. I didn’t pick this up.

Mikey hid all the money in the cans of tomatoes because he was going to do an insurance fraud on the place and burn it! And the money would survive. (But why ‘hide’ it in the restaurant? And how come nobody opened one before? Did Tina and the staff know?)

That’s some long arc storytelling I was wondering why he was bothering to go to that effort if he owed the uncle that exact amount why not just pay him?

Love it

Well, Carmy did almost open a can on what E1/E2?

I didn't delve in to logistics of the practical lightning or the cash in the cans surviving, kind of chalked it up with some of the more TVesque moments. But I don't personally believe Mikey would have thought the cans would make it through the fire, though they could have easily been moved beforehand.

I'd have to look back but I think the practical lightning was a single poor attempt and not the next step of a plan but could certainly have missed something there.

I kinda think I’m missing something too. But it’s convoluted and tv convenient enough without getting further into it
Unless Carms dad appears in season 3 and is looking for the money or some such.
The uncle is leaning into them heavily so there will be some drama and inevitable fuckery around that for sure I think.

Yep, agree with you there 100%

Only up to S2E2 myself, the lady has not wanted to delve back in to the tension just yet as she was also in the industry. I'll wait it out a bit more but that same tension definitely had me thinking if I could swing getting back in to it.

Beware spoilers.

It’s a very different season. Little to no kitchen tension except *that* middle season episode fishes and the final episode.

It’s a much much different season than the first. Getting into each of the characters and giving them their own eps. It’s more enjoyable overall than the first season.

Except for that fuckin fishes episode. It’s vital to the overall story going backwards and forwards but it’s a tough watch.
