Fuck Wease. Here I am thinking that I have it tough because I'm trying to convince the wife that becoming a cat foster carer is too much for us at the moment. Like 'snatch just said, you're a good egg.

It’s like a worst nightmare come true. Kids deserve stability though.

Re: Talk about your day thread
No idea how long. It would depend on how long it would take for his mom to get him back. Which is entirely based upon how much effort she puts into it. I do feel that she’d put less effort if he were with us instead the dad.bodysnatcher wrote:Jesus Christ, wease. That situation is a whole lot of fucked up. There are so many layers that it makes it difficult to decide on the best course of action. You’re a good dude with a big heart. if you guys did end up with temporary custody, any clue how long it would be? As someone without any sort of idea how I would deal with that situation, I’d just say be careful to not always be the last resort savior, so that you’re not stuck in a repeat pattern and you end up raising this child til he’s 18. Unless of course that’s not something you wouldn’t be opposed to.

Re: Talk about your day thread
This is still a very remote possibility. Neither Mrs Wease nor I think that the state will remove the kid from a parent (even tho there is no real legal(?) basis for him being recognized as such) but neither of us feel that being with that parent is the best thing for him either. It’s just a fucked up situation that I knew when they niece moved out would be long from over.
On the other hand, the youngest Weaseling is tremendously excited at the possibility as she’s long wanted a little brother. The two of them did bond a bit while he was with us but since it’s been two years I don’t know if they would jump right back into it or what form it would take.

wease I think it’s okay to say no in this situation, but if you’re truly concerned about the kid’s welfare, that’s different.

Re: Talk about your day thread
Oh, we’re definitely concerned. We knew it was just a matter of time before something happened and she lost custody when they moved out. The whole culture she moved back into is drugs/jail/bounce/jail/bounce/drugs ad infininitum. So he would most certainly be better off with us. And that’s why we said yes. Doesn’t mean the judge will see it that way tho.

Appreciate everything team.
It’s now 7:06 local time and we’ve not heard anything so we’re assuming those in charge didn’t go for it.

We were right. They didn’t go for it.
They did a hair follicle test on Little Man today and he was positive for meth. Words can’t even describe how I feel about that.
