I’ve seen more TikTok videos than I care to admit, of clearly mentally unwell teens and adults doing absolutely mental shit to people, jumping up in their faces, grabbing their dogs and running away with them, even breaking into their houses etc etc etc

It’s frankly bizarre that more if not most of them don’t get shot
They’d deserve it too. But TikTok is basically fuckin society up from the inside and giving these people a platform. It won’t end well for them. Or society.

Shooter was in a mental institution for two weeks earlier this year. Apparently late onset schizophrenia is a thing, which is normally associated with delusions but otherwise no issues with disorganized thoughts or problems understanding. Not clear thats the diagnosis, but family reported delusions of people speaking ill of him after he got hearing aids.

Gun Buybacks were always dubious, but this makes it extra. A grandmother dropping off her (incapacitated offspring's) weapon at a gun buyback might return a functional firearm back into use by a prohibited person faster than just storing it until they get out of jail.
