Yeah, agree there isn't much replay value (for adults). But I know my kids will love it for quite a while.

Monkey_Driven wrote:What was your total playtime, Daft? I'm not at a stage in my life right now where I can beat a game (even a 10-15 hour one) in one week, but I'm curious.
I checked my profile and the hours haven’t been compiled yet. It just says, “Started playing 9 days ago.” Id guess 12-15 hours.

Btw, it’s the second Jump Jump Jump stage in the special world that I struggled super hard with. The key is the beginning. You have to get up on the red platform after the wall climb immediately, and I’m too much of a newb to realize doing the little spin at the top of your jump makes all the difference. Had I realized that at the start, it would have probably taken me half as many attempts.

My wife started playing this. I watched. She’s in the first world, and I had to get up and pace a little. I almost threw up.

This has been my experience playing with a 6 year old at times as well.

Try playing with her. I did that and had to stop to save our marriage

Defeated Bowser in Wonder. Have played just under 20 hours. Will go back in to do a few stages over again, and check out a couple of special stages I have not yet done.

Edit: just over 20 hours played now

I haven’t beaten one special world level in Wonder. Got close with the rolling fireball. ( For me beaten = finishing and getting all special coin’s and sets)

Have beaten a couple of them fully so far. Have also gone around to other worlds to pick up remaining seeds and coins. 28 hours played now.

Beat the game yesterday. Finished Special World this morning. I have all the seeds. All the flagpoles. The only Purple Coins I'm missing are in the Special World. I might go and try to collect those too.

Of the modern 2D Mario's, I'd probably rank them, from best to worst, as New, NewU and then Wonder. I view the badges as a missed opportunity- there was never(?) a time a badge was needed to collect a Purple Coin or Seed. I would have preferred to swap badges in and out in order to collect everything. The Special World felt very un-Nintendo to me. A hard world for the sake of being hard.

I got all the Purple Coins and that unlocked The Final-Final Test Badge Marathon. Holy shit. I watched a You Tube video. There's no way I'll be able to beat that. Have any RMers beat this stage?

I haven't gotten there yet, but watched a video. It definitely looks more doable than that Mario 3D World final level.

If you die, do you have to do all sections over again?
