I'm not really surprised to be honest, there weren't any undeniably awesome songs in that list other than songs from the medley. The others of course are good but I understand why he didn't like "Let It Be" even though it's great. Martha My Dear though, that song rules
If my baby was "Cry Baby Cry", I would never disown it. I'd display its every trophy on the mantle and keep its finger paintings on the fridge for life.
Amen to that.

And very little of what's in the medley is particularly good of its own accord, to be honest.
Yeah but together it's the greatest 17 minutes of my life
What's great about this statement is I absolutely don't take it as hyperbole. (And not b/c I think your life is horrible, rather those 17 minutes are that fucking good, arguably the best thing humans have done).

"Revolver" is kicking my ass. Unbelieveable. The only complaint is that "Yellow Submarine" has to be skipped, because fuck that song.

Yeah... but it's fucking Revolver; if I had to pick one Beatles album to take away to the proverbial island I feel that may be the one.

So true. I'd discard multitudes of discographies before ever letting go of these 17 minutes

Dear Prudence or get the fuck out.

Me and my brother jammed on that tune for 35 minutes (or so) one night up on the lake while the northern lights were dancing across the sky.

So, so, groovy.

I don't think liking Revolver would equate to liking the Beatles. It would equate to liking one album by the Beatles.

He's right, though. If you like one tenth of a band's output, can you classify yourself as a fan? Would you?

I'm no longer talking about the Beatles here, but whatever.

This is it. I've argued throughout this thread that I don't "like The Beatles." But that doesn't mean I don't like some songs by The Beatles. It just means they have more songs that I don't like than I do, so I don't call myself a fan. I don't generally call myself a fan of a band unless I like the vast majority of their stuff.

Doing this was hard. 10 songs feels absurdly inadequate, like I'm insulting all of the rest. What a band.
