I do, but "Given to Fly" is a special song to me, and on any given day I'd probably choose "Pilate" to listen to. I've listened to so many bootlegs over the years that sometimes I forget how quietly majestic the original version of "GTF" is. On the right day, it still really lifts me up.

All those songs are special to me, though. I played that single to death, in hindsight it feels insane that there were only a few weeks between that coming out and Yield coming out. I probably listened to that single 100 times in that short period.

I used to adore GTF. Its been played to death so these days i easily skip it. Like Betterman for example.

But sometimes the song just hits you again and its a glorious experience.

:bammer:

They are all fantastic songs and that single is really a special event in my PJ fandom, too. GTF is obviously a great song and meaningful. I was just being snarky because we're the sort of "hipster" PJ board. And I'm old enough to remember the chud era where Pilate was the best song on Yield.

I do, honestly and unironically feel like Leatherman is the best of those three songs, though. I really do. But then again if I had a nickel for every time I'd been called a hipster....

that shit is true garage jangle pop. So great.
Yep. But specifically the studio version. The live versions are merely OK. But let's not turn this into another drummer debate.

Or let's:
Jack Irons = garage jangle pop
Matt Cameron = spritzy rocker

It’s an outstanding song — makes me think of Fables of the Reconstruction-era REM, with its simple melody and sepia-toned, stitched-together-from-someone-else’s-memories storytelling. A deep-catalog delight.

Sunburn is easily the best forgotten/unreleased/bside/whatever in this band's catalog

Jeff’s baseline reminds me so much of Entwistle.
