I went from "I kinda like it!" to "I hate it!" right back around to "I kinda like it!"

Besides the obvious Ramones thing, for some reason the guitar reminds me of Where is My Mind. Anyways I really like it.

It's very 90s alt rock. Yeah the Pixies comparison is apt

He kind of sounds like Beck on Where Do I Go, 3rd track.

This was added to his Spotify profile:

There's now also a playlist of his rap songs.

I first came across UK guitarist Bobby Lee with his excellent 2020 album Shakedown in Slabtown, his cosmic bluesy guitar hitting right in my sweet spot. He's released his third album Endless Skyways this year and after my first listen to the 9 instrumentals I'm sold. According to his blurb the influences are JJ Cale, Ry Cooder, some krautrock and, believe it or not, Brian Eno in the more ambient moments. This is a lovely listen. Here's the opener "Reds for a Blue Planet":

I've spent the afternoon with the latest Bully album Lucky For You and I honestly can't decide how I feel about it. I think that means in the end it goes into my "Not Bad but Unremarkable" folder for 2023 releases.

I do like the single "Days Move Slow" with its slacker 90s vibe though.

Hometown Perth* Western Australia artist Carla Geneve has released a cracker album recently, Hertz. She's only 22 and sings here about personal experiences with bipolar amongst other issues. The album is just a really beautiful listen though, and the personal writing really comes through. Its generally chill and downtempo, but done well. I could see this young lass doing some pretty big things in the future.

I actually like every song on this wee beastie, but the lead single "Bills" is so good:

* she's actually from the smaller coastal country town Albany, but I'm sure none of you yobs care for the distinction.

Not often you see a music video with this level of vomit either. Sorry about that.

It's alright, but I think I may be the wrong demographic for this
