Jesus' childhood home is identified in the Gospels of Luke and Matthew as the town of Nazareth in Galilee, where he lived with his family. Jesus was Jewish.

The name Palestine is one of several names that have been used for the region historically.
Spoiler: show
The first written records referring to Palestine emerged in the 12th-century BCE Twentieth Dynasty of Egypt, which used the term Peleset for the neighboring people or land.

The first clear use of the term Palestine to refer to the entire area between Phoenicia and Egypt was in 5th century BCE ancient Greece.

The term is generally accepted to be a cognate of the biblical name Peleshet (פלשת Pəlésheth, usually transliterated as Philistia). The term and its derivates are used more than 250 times in Masoretic-derived versions of the Hebrew Bible, of which 10 uses are in the Torah, with undefined boundaries, and almost 200 of the remaining references are in the Book of Judges and the Books of Samuel.

The use of the name "Palestine" became common in Early Modern English, was used in English and Arabic during the Mutasarrifate of Jerusalem and was revived as an official place name with the British Mandate for Palestine.

Some other terms that have been used to refer to all or part of this land include Canaan, Land of Israel (Eretz Yisrael or Ha'aretz), the Promised Land, Greater Syria, the Holy Land, Iudaea Province, Judea, Coele-Syria, "Israel HaShlema", Kingdom of Israel, Kingdom of Jerusalem, Zion, Retenu (Ancient Egyptian), Southern Syria, Southern Levant and Syria Palaestina.

From Dan to Beersheba is a biblical phrase used nine times in the Hebrew Bible to refer to the settled areas of the Tribes of Israel between Dan in the North and Beersheba in the South. The term contributed to the position that was used by British politicians during negotiation of the British Mandate for Palestine following World War I.

The Southern Levant is a geographical region encompassing the southern half of the Levant. It corresponds approximately to modern-day Israel, Palestine, and Jordan; some definitions also include southern Lebanon, southern Syria and/or the Sinai Peninsula. As a strictly geographical description, it is sometimes used by archaeologists and historians to avoid the religious and political connotations of other names for the area.

"Inside the Biden White House, Doubts About Gaza War Are Beginning to Creep In"

"We’re at the phase of the Israel–Palestine war when people start worrying about how they will look when this is over."

"Members of Congress who have called for a ceasefire are now facing primary challenges.

"Democratic Majority for Israel — DMFI, an ally of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee — launched a $100,000 ad campaign against Rep. Rashida Tlaib"

‘Members of Congress who have called for a ceasefire are now facing primary challenges

"An ally of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) launched a $100,000 ad campaign against Rashida Tlaib"

"Barack Obama wrote after his presidency that “members of both parties worried about crossing AIPAC” because “those who criticized Israel too loudly risked being tagged as ‘anti-Israel’ (& possibly anti-Semitic) & confronted with a well-funded opponent in the next election"."

What's the polling say about support for Palestine/Israel in the US these days? I don't have my finger on the pulse of the people these days.

The issue with polling is the same thing that happens when you ask anyone to move beyond their team’s slogans. Asking “Do you support Hamas?” gets a resounding “no” but asking “do you support a ceasefire?” gets a different response, and pollsters seem to avoid asking how to reconcile those two things.

The US is going to keep troops in isolated bases in Syria and in the Green Zone in Baghdad surrounded by hostile militias until what? A base gets over-run? The entire garrisons have TBIs from ballistic missile impacts? To what end?
