That was the first thing to come to mind but then I decided that couldn’t be it because records aren’t 30 inches wide. So now I was correct but I’m confused again.

It's the measurement of the speed of the tape in the tape machine when recording. 30 IPS is usually considered better quality overall, but low end tends to sound better at 15 IPS

So what turntable is everyone rocking with here? Got the green light to get an upgrade to my AT - LP120. The old one is going out to the loft and am looking for something that looks a little more sleek than that silver tank. Obviously sound is the most important but aesthetics are also up there too.

I’ve been looking at Regas, Pro-Ject and U-Turns. Haven’t gone any deeper yet. Just feeling out what you guys like or dislike.
