I tried watching Cliffhanger a few years ago because I remembered liking it as a kid. It was awful. Let the Neanderthals have it, trag, and we'll enjoy our caviar and NA beers together in the other room.tragabigzanda wrote:*detractiontree_ wrote:so the praise should be more for his behind the scenes work, not so much his acting prowesstragabigzanda wrote:as a matter of fact, Stallone has historically been very hands on with his productions, from early project development through release. I'm watching Narc this afternoon. I'm pretty sure I saw this when it came out, but I don't remember anything about it.
Enjoying it so far. I love Ray Liotta.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Re: What movies are you watching?
I just saw Lords of Chaos, and I was surprised by how accurate it seemed. Great acting by Rory Culkin. It did get a fair amount of poor reviews, from both critics and fans.
1. the movie doesn’t take the music seriously enough
2. it’s a borderline comedy with how the actors portray their characters
3. their (or Varg’s) transformation is one dimensional
I do see something true in all three statements above, and I still enjoyed it.

Demolition Man holds up? I haven't seen it in decades, but I have fond memories of it.
