I will say, this is better than anything Kevin Parker has put out since currents.

Been digging the soulful grooves of Yazmin Lacey's new album Voice Notes. Here's the glorious closer "Sea Glass". You're welcome.

I've listened to this album a few times and I think it's a grower. I've liked it more with every listen.Higgs wrote:I've spent the afternoon with the latest Bully album Lucky For You and I honestly can't decide how I feel about it. I think that means in the end it goes into my "Not Bad but Unremarkable" folder for 2023 releases.
I do like the single "Days Move Slow" with its slacker 90s vibe though.

Re: Albums of 2023
I adore the new Bully record. It's in contention for album of the year, for me. Big fan. But I totally get why folks aren't connecting with it. Very different from her previous stuff.Leatherhead wrote:I've listened to this album a few times and I think it's a grower. I like many Dua Lipa singles but I don't think she's put out a truly great album yet. Future Nostalgia is very good but it takes a huge dip in the last two tracks for some reason

I don't think I've listened to a full album, but I could make a hell of a playlist of her songs.

I'm into the last two tracks. The closer especially -- big bop.Jorge wrote:I like many Dua Lipa singles but I don't think she's put out a truly great album yet. Future Nostalgia is very good but it takes a huge dip in the last two tracks for some reason

I'm talking about the standard version, which ends with "Good in Bed" and "Boys Will Be Boys," just in case you're talking about the Deluxe

Boys Will Be Boys is a real bop!
But you were right to clarify. All these dang kids with all their dang deluxe and alternate versions and remixes! Aaaarggh!!!
