Re: The Killer
I can see it. There's a lot of funny stuff. The nail gun timing is funny, the German tourist stuff, there's a lot of moments where the confident narration of the Killer is immediately contradicted by his incompetence(?), and those moments are played with a certain lightness and deadpan style that could be read as humor.

Re: The Killer
I mean he walked right by the clearly occupied bathroom despite the very audible chime that anyone inside would’ve heard when he opened the outside door to get in and the subsequent sound of a shower faucet being turned off. “Let me walk right past that and into the bedroom. Maybe I can catch a glimpse of some tiddies.”

Re: The Killer
None of this is a criticism, by the way. I just think it’s clear this is a guy chasing one mistake with another because of the type of emotional reaction (to his wife/SO getting beat up) he has a rule against.
And I think he botched the hit because he didn’t wait for his pulse to get below 60 (which, by the way, was elevated because he saw some dominatrix bazongas coming his way). He’s a fuckup.

Re: The Killer
I dunno, he had an ethos, some ideal guidelines to abide, but perfection is difficult. In the end, he won because he was close enough. He was by no means "bad" at his job

He was definitely good enough to overcome his mistakes. No doubt.

Re: The Killer
I agree with this movie looking completely derivative and generic. There are some competent moments and shots, Its David Fincher anyway, but it feels like a very minor entry in his great career, something closer to Panic Room maybe.

You can't just throw that out every time someone doesn't like a movie as much as you, Tree.

Give tree's "grow with you in time" response a chance. I think you'll come around on it eventually.
