I kinda feel bad for Brie Larson though.
Rogue is going to steal her powers in X-Men and she’ll be free
Now wouldn’t that be an interesting turn of events?
Khaleesi already has them.

The Marvels shows that the future of superhero movies needn't be either darkier/grittier/crueler or parodic/tongue-in-cheek/foolish. There is space for something with emotion, that's fun and goofy but still played straight.

If there is a movie that showed that gritty is not the only way is Guardians, any of them.

good point.

allow me to amend.

Honestly, I feel bad for the cast. I didn't like this movie but it doesn't deserve to be treated as the straw that broke the MCU's back, especially during the same year that gave us Quantumania!

I think Thor and Ant-Man turned people against marvel, but The Marvels was unfortunately timed to get the full brunt of the hate.

Or its a "three strikes and you're out" thing.

yeah, i agree with that. I was surprised to see Marvel kinda buring this one and really getting Ant Man 3, Thor and Dr Strange 2 in front.

I fell bad for the three leads, they seem very good. Way better than fucking Benedict Crumbertrash very lazy acting as Strange.

Cumberbatch is a weird actor. I'm still not really sure what to make of him.

I really liked him in Power of the Dog, but not much else. Is he good in Imitation Game?

It's notable that women in particular didn't show up. I think the model going forward for appealing to women will be Barbie and not lady superheroes. Or Disney will quadruple down on doing stupid shit.

Does this have anything to do with it having women leads? Isn't the story that this wasn't enough to pull fans out of their Phase 4 funk.

Your blaming The Marvels for a problem that was started by Ant-Man 3, Thor 4, and Secret Invasion. I mean, shit, even I almost gave up on Marvel after Secret Invasion.

Everyone. The TV series are targeted at specific segments. Every person on Earth is supposed to go see the movies

Interesting point at the end of this video comparing it to Wonder Woman (around 8:30).
