Well, this was a disaster. We all ordered and when they brought out our food, mine was wrong. Waiter apologized and said the standard “I’ll get you a new one.” Ok, no problem. 25 minutes later everyone else was finished and we’re just sitting there waiting for my re-fired hamburger. So I signal to waiter to come over and tell him to forget the burger. He’s like, “are you sure?” I say absolutely, they’re all already finished eating. He says ok and goes to the kitchen to tell them then comes back out and tells me it should be the next one out. I tell him it should’ve been the next one out after he told them to re-fire it and no, I still don’t want it, we just want the check. He brings it then asks me if I want a box to take home the burger they originally fucked up and I didn’t want. I just looked at him kinda in disbelief that he asked that and told him no. So now we’ve all been out to supper and I’ve had nothing and I’m hungry as a motherfucker.

The place we wanted to go to last night didn’t appear to be open, so we went to a nearby joint offering a five course tasting menu. Everything was really good, except one of the desserts was maybe the weirdest and most unpleasant dish I’ve ever had:

THE GREEN IS IN THE FRUIT
Kiwi fagon crème brûlée, sparkling kiwi juice, kiwi compote/tuile, tonka yogurt

It was not sweet at all, and the aroma and first flavor of the bite somehow resembled fish. It was like they forgot an essential ingredient or something.
