Would you say the movie was good, great, or dynamite?

Often forgotten had he succeeded in europe, the new world was next.

Imagine napoleons America today? That could be awesome

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Pretty much the same, though at times I didn't feel very engaged. Looked great though.

Not a big fan of Kirby, and did have a hard time buying Joaquin.

He sold the Louisiana Purchase to the US while in power. He was happy to have it off the books

Huh?
I said these are supposed to be historically accurate movies
I watched the trailer again, and Napoleon blows up the top of a pyramid with a cannon about a minute in

The actual napoleon did that.
They gave up shooting when they weren’t making much of a dent but also running low on shot.

This did not happen
Napoleon conquered upper Egypt, I guess they wanted a striking visual representation to gloss over it

Great news.
I want to go see this while in Paris, for obvious reasons, but my wife wants to wait for the director’s cut. :gomez:

Apparently it fleshes things out beyond the battles and his marriage.

Take advantage of the big screen. It's a big movie with big battles

I don’t think I could take 4 hours of this.

Won’t it be dubbed in French if you see it there?

I echo the sentiment of seeing this on the big screen. Ridley knows actions, and the action scenes were great in this. Joaquin is brilliant, as always. He carries the film. Not sure the run time is justified.

Wouldn’t it be odd if he didn’t carry the film? He is playing the title character after all.

I bet I could find an English version playing somewhere.

I wondered how they got Joaquin to look short, but I guess my guy is only 5’’8”
