I read the book a while ago. I though half of it was good. I really didn't know the stuff about his childhood so that was interesting as was everything about how Soundgarden came to be and the early days of the band. The latter half was almost like reading some PR stuff: Chris lived with his beautiful wife Vicky and their beautiful children and made beautiful solo albums. To Reiff's defence he does mention in the beginning that many people who originally agreed to be interviewed for the book declined once the lawsuits between the band and Vicky appeared. But I do hope we get another book someday.

I finished this a couple of days ago and pretty much agree with everything you say here. Vicky is portrayed as some sort of saving angel and maybe she was but post-Chris actions make it hard to believe.
