He was also responsible for my only memory of an 8-track player. We were in the Trans Am listening to AC/DC (I think) and when the tape got to the end, he said "well dont need that no more" and threw it out the window. So for years I thought 8-tracks were single use tapes.

As a teacher:
Romeo and Juliet
Lord of the Flies
The Crucible
Shawshank

As a parent:
Toy Story 3
Ice Age
Jurassic Park
Land Before Time
Kung Fu Panda

As a kid in the vhs era:
BMX Bandits
Star Wars trilogy
Indy trilogy
The Burbs
The Great Outdoors
Goonies
Spaceballs
Doc Hollywood
Mannequin
Ghostbusters
Willow
Prince of Thieves
The Wizard
Adventures in Babysitting
Karate Kid 1 and 2
Rocky 4
Young Guns
Stand By Me
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Major League
Caddyshack 2
Three Amigos
Airplane!
Naked Gun 1 and 2
Christmas Vacation

Honestly, as a kid, I might have watched Iron Eagle or the Golden Child a dozen times in one summer. Who knows? Since finishing high school in 95, I doubt I’ve seen any movie more than half a dozen times.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Actually I’m sure I’ve seen PCU at least a dozen times in smallish increments, given that is was on Comedy Central pretty much constantly from the years 1996-1998

tragabigzanda wrote:Oh yeah, I could claim Young Guns 1&2 as well. lol Mannequin! Probably didnt see it 12 times, but probably six, which would be five too many.
Oh man. Virgin me fantasized about the mannequin scenario way too much.
