I rewatched The Outwaters, liked it enough the first time, LOVED it the second; so much ambiguous beauty and brutality

I don't know if it beats Skinamarink for me but it blows me away that we got both super weird films in the same year

The Outwaters mix body and cosmic horror, so to me, is the winner between the both.

I'd struggle to argue but I'm so into highly ambiguous, poetic, analog stuff in general; we don't get fever dreams from the POV of kids very often

both movies are a treasure and both use sound design masterfully

Meh I kind of agree with their logic, how many ppl are going to a scream movie to see any specific star besides ghostface?

Rewatched It Follows for the first time since seeing it when it came out in theaters - I enjoyed it more this time but it still doesn’t quite add up to a great movie.

well, Scream is the one horror franchise were the cast is very important. These guys are shitting all over that. Im guessing if they dont bring back Neve ( seems they are going for her and Patrick Dempsey) its going to be tough for them.

there has been rumors pretty much in every entry but i dont see it. I do see Neve and Patrick coming back and the franchise ditching this new generation. Well see, but this thing is a trainwreck so far. Kinda feel bad for Christoper Landon, who is a great director and writer and seems to be pretty upset with everything.

I just don’t think people care that much, they got rid of both Campbell and Arquette for the latest one and it was the most popular installment in 25 years. And that was after they had a ton of bad publicity for doing pretty much the same thing to Campbell as they appear to have done to Ortega.

I think they had a big hit because of how well they treat the franchise timeline. Its pretty much the only horror franchise ( along with Chucky maybe) thats still in the original timeline.

The new movie was a hit because of the new guys, specially of course, Jenna Ortega, who is a star at this point.

Finally saw Talk to Me.

Pretty good. Not particularly scary, but as someone else said it was unpredictable so that nice. I also liked the lead.

Yeah she was really good. I loved the movie, but haven’t seen it again yet. I wanted to see it with my girl’s little brother

"Moon Garden" (2023) is not a perfect movie but it shook me to my emotional core anyway; for those interested in a surrealist dark fantasy-horror fairytale from the perspective of a young child (wonderfully portrayed by Haven Lee Harris), where the minimal story takes a back seat to gorgeous steampunk-ish, industrial, practical and stop-motion visuals; this is the kind of movie that makes me love movies

Oil & Blood: The Monstrous Consumption of Near Dark (1987)

Alright, I'll bite... looks like it just rotated off streaming services though.
