Which album is a good starting point? Asking for a friend.

I'd go in order. You don't want to miss the crazy amount of quality songs on the first 2 albums.

Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, 1989. I haven't listened to Red (4th album) as much, but the album as a whole didn't have songs that grabbed my attention like albums 1, 2, 3 and 5.

I think Folklore is her best album, and also the one most likely to register with a person coming to her music from a primarily rock background.

I agree that both Folklore or evermore will pleased any fan that comes from a more oriented Indie niche. Im more inclined to think her best album is actually Reputation, but it might be too pop for a first listen.

Both Lover or Midnights are also a very good choices.
