My favorite game ever, probably. I’ll replay it one day and not rush through the end (my ridiculous story of the last 5 hours or so of the game is detailed in the Disco Elysium thread). Shame it looks like there won’t be an official sequel.

Spider-Man 2 is more of the same, but I'm still enjoying it a lot. The upgrades come fast and furious and the combat is simple, but still varied.

I haven't been able to play as much as I've wanted to with work lately, but have loved my limited time with it thus far. Think I'm only upgraded to Level 13 or something at this point. More of the same, but still fun as hell (and gorgeous) to play. I'm hoping to do another quality DLC for this one too like the three stories they released for the first one.

I'm only about 30% in, but I agree it's more of the same. That's really the most concise description. Some missions and story bore the crap out of me, but it's a technological achievement and fun as hell sometimes.

I'm enjoying most of the side content that isn't just "go here and beat up a bunch of dudes". The story is mostly good considering the challenge of weaving in so many characters.

Playstation 2023 Wrap-Up Results

25 Total Games Played
Most Played Game - NBA 2k24 (49 hours)
318 Total Hours of Gaming
240 Trophies Earned (1 Platinum)
1 hour of online play

Pretty low numbers compared to previous years. I'm not surprised. There was plenty to play on the Switch and I traveled quite a bit this year.

I also beat games on PS2, PS3, PSP, and Vita. I probably spent my most time on the PS3.

From the Insomniac Leak.

Venom game arriving in 2025, Wolverine launching in 2026, Spider-Man 3 coming in 2028, a new Ratchet and Clank coming in 2029, and the studio’s first X-Men game releasing by 2030. That slate then culminates with a “New IP” planned for 2031-2032.

IMO, 5 Spiderman games in 10 years is too many.

$$$$

I think Venom will be more of a Miles Morales-length game.
