Re: Albums of 2023
Can you provide an example? I just opened the Rolling Stone top 2023 albums list just to check and immediately saw Metallica, Wilco, Blur, the National, Rolling Stones...
Also I haven't listened to his new album yet but Sufjan is a great artist

Re: Albums of 2023
It's become a bit of a meme at this point, but "no King Gizzard?" hit especially hard this year. I guess they're no longer cool and everyone is finally fed up with their release schedule.

Re: Albums of 2023
I mean, when you release only a metal album and an album made solely with synthesizers, you might not get the same attention.

Re: Albums of 2023
Listened to the first 3 or 4 songs i like them enough, i appreciate the guitar´s sound and the production but im still not that surprised. Vampire is a great song tough, and she clearly has talent.VinylGuy wrote:downloaded that Olivia Rodrigo album to see what the fuzz is about
Ill try to finish the album soon.

Re: Albums of 2023
I know she has a writing credit on deja vu because it's an iteration of Swift's Cruel Summer (which Annie has a writing credit it on), but I'm not aware of an actual collab between Annie and Olivia.Buby wrote:Really?VinylGuy wrote:Also Annie Clark has a song with her, i didnt knew that
But I'm wrong a lot. I'd love to be wrong here. I love both those ladies and would welcome a whole fucking album of both of them.

I didn't see the RS one but every other one I clicked on.. out of that crew the only one I saw here n there was the national which may have cracked the top 20 in some spotsJorge wrote:Can you provide an example? Re: Albums of 2023
this one came out of nowhere for me. they're called PACKS, and they put out an album back in March, but it wasn't on my radar until i heard one of their songs for a forthcoming 2024 album. i learned about them via stereogum. yes, i still read music blogs to find new music.
they're not exactly breaking new ground, but they scratch an itch for me. the itch is modern bands that pull from the early-to-mid 90s. this is from their 2023 album, Crispy Crunchy Nothing.
