Damn I was hoping we'd see Wolverine a little sooner than that. I was thinking '25 at the latest.
Agree about the Venom game being more a Miles Morales-esque release.

Re: Sony Playstation
Finally was able to snag a Playstation Portal after being subscribed to several in-stock trackers the last month.
I can understand if someone is skeptical of it, but it's going to be a game changer for my ability to play more around the house.

That sounds really cool. Is it as good as the Switch to use? Do the PS5 games look great?

It's roughly the same size as the Switch and I've read it has a very premium feel. We will see!tragabigzanda wrote:It’s so wide. Looks unnatural to hold.

Re: Sony Playstation
Playstation Portal Impressions:
- Feels like a premium device in terms of build quality and feel, it really does feel like you're holding a DualSense controller
- Screen is merely ok, wish it was an OLED
- Much lighter than expected and the screen is offset lower in your hand than the front of the controllers (compared to a Switch for example)
- Works flawlessly over my local Wi-Fi and while traveling on a stable, non-public connection (experienced very little lag in four different locations)
- The form factor is much better than any Backbone controller I've tried for remote play and I don't have to worry about cooking my phone's battery
- Easy to get connected to my PS5 (takes as little as 45 seconds to power it on, exit rest mode, and start playing)
I've already logged several hours with it around the house and while traveling over the holidays. Really works well as a second screen experience while watching sports or being in the same room as a roommate/family member that is occupying the TV.

Re: Sony Playstation
You can play it on any Wi-Fi network as long as the connection is stronger than 15-20 Mpps or so at both locations (home PS5 and wherever the Portal is connected). It must be connected at all times, however. That might be where your confusion comes from.tragabigzanda wrote:Wait, how do you play it while traveling? I thought one of the big hangups was you had to be on the same local network as your PS5? Did I misunderstand that?

Re: Sony Playstation
Does anyone have the PS5 VR2 set? Thoughts? Worth the money? These questions come from someone who has never tried/played any VR headset before.

Re: Sony Playstation
It streams games from your home console. The PS5 is doing all the work. Not sure about hotel Wi-Fi or other public hotspots.tragabigzanda wrote:Ah, so I could play at a hotel (assuming speed was good) but accessing my PS5 hard drive at home? Re: Sony Playstation
I never knew you could play from a remote location. I thought you needed to be within proximity of your PS5. Seems better than I thought.

Re: Sony Playstation
First State of Play of 2024 will be this Wednesday, 31 Jan, at 5pm Eastern. Supposed to last about 40 mins and feature approx 15 games.
Here's to hoping we get some Silent Hill 2 and/or Metal Gear Solid Delta Info. I wouldn't be opposed to hearing more about that Phantom Blade Zero game as well.
