Ruffalo is great in that irredeemable movie. He made me wish there was a different movie happening around him so I could enjoy his performance

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Wonka was fun. Charming if uneven. There aren't a ton of stakes but it's a kind and funny film. Good cast. One or two really great moments that expand the mythology in a rewarding way. Also some unnecessary callbacks. Overall, I enjoyed it

Poor Things. Overlong in the middle act. Great performances by everyone not named Ruffalo (dude is unreal bad and so far out of his depth I can't believe it). Stone and Dafoe deliver two of the best performances I've seen this year. It's a complicated movie with a lot to say. Fully understand why some hate it.

Do you normally like Mark Ruffalo or no?

I usually like him. But I think he excels in modern, straight forward work. Any time you elevate the tone, or setting, or style you run the risk of a wonky Ruffalo. But this is the most I've ever disliked him.

I liked it enough. Not a great movie at all. I’m still mostly surprised with Cooper as a director; he is great and the 4.3 ratio works very well here.

I liked it. Thought it stayed as true to the story as a film could, although it’s been about 5 years since I read the book.

Towards the end, my wife spotted her high school drama teacher in a scene.

What a very very minor movie. Looks great, but the director is trying so hard. Its just so full of herself. And the worst part of it, the story is not even near a compelling one. Its so obvious it gets boring. You can see how the director was only thinking of cool scenes instead of making an actual great narration.

I'm watching it right now

it's too long, not as edgy as it thinks it is and Barry Keoghan should just be Irish, but as a 2003 update of Cruel Intentions it's kind of entertaining

Anatomy of a Fall was excellent. Some top-notch acting.

Maestro was fine. Bradley Cooper’s burning desire for an Oscar was palpable.

The Creator wasn’t as bad as I was led to believe. I loved the look of it. Gareth Edwards does robots in a tropical setting well. Hopefully for his next movie he’s working with a better script. This one did get rather dumb at times.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny - I was in a very lazy and forgiving mood and goshdarnit I enjoyed it!

Saltburn leans into millennial nostalgia much harder than I expected. I wonder if that's part of why it's being so divisive.

I enjoyed it much more as an aesthetic experience -- a collection or memorable, visually striking moments with some emotional heft -- than a narrative one, as it does get rather dumb, boring and obvious often.

There are scenes that are so opulent in their composition and lighting -- Ollie, hurting and alone, running spurned down the street away from his supposed friends while bright city lights shine over his face, tracking his emotional state from blue to incandescent red, "This Modern Love" blaring in the background; Ollie and Felix sitting together in Felix's darkened dorm, sunbeams slipping in gently through the curtains; Felix's family disassociating at lunchtime while they sit shrouded in red light the day after a devastating tragedy -- that you kind of wish the story stayed closer to those well-conveyed moments of emotion rather than the tedious class farce it goes for afterwards. Some real weird editing too.

Great soundtrack though. Sophie Ellis Bextor, hell yeah.

I knew the real story being a wrestling fan, but there was some very effective scenes that made you reflect on their tragedies. The ending made me cry a good amount. Could've been that Effron was just playing the more soft-spoken brother, but Jeremy Allen White was great in this and outshined him.

I agree with this. The ending was so awful it kinda ruined all the good stuff that the movie presents, which for me it was just in terms of aesthetic and visuals.

Maestro grew a lot on me, specially Cooper´s direction. He did some very interesting choices and damn, the scope of it all its amazing.

it reminded me of the show Skins in its slightly charming retro melodrama; I did expect it to be speaking to adults more than it did
