One of the most common troubles that a band might go through after being trampled by a horse, from what I hear.tragabigzanda wrote:Kind of. Have I been sleeping on a classic of the noise punk genre?

Re: Has any artist become your favorite later in life
My youngest son got into Metallica a few years ago. I was obviously aware of them growing up and owned the black album, but they were never my thing. Saw them with a friend in 2009 or so and enjoyed it but didn’t know half the songs. Last year I took my son to see them twice. Did the same this year and have tickets for a pair of shows next year. They’re not my favorite band, but aside from this mellow STP/VR/Weiland playlist I made, I’ve listened to Metallica way more than any other artist over the past two years. It’s been a lot of fun. I really love their new album, too. I hope they keep playing at least through my son’s high school years. They’re really great.

Talking Heads, The Cure, The Strokes, and Black Keys are probably the best examples of bands that I didn’t like at first but grew on me over time. Now I love them all.

Haha, I stand by the quality of their mid-career period. They had a great run.

Was born in 1971..
From 1986 to 2009, my favorite band alternated between Pearl Jam and Metallica.
Mastodon was it from 2009-2011.
Between the Buried and Me is and has been my favorite band since 2011. Pearl Jam is second.
