I don't anticipate to find any Brand New fans here but I think this is tremendous.
The new album is still hitting me pretty good. Get Hurt had a ton of baggage of course but I feel this one is taking all of the solid elements in that record and using it to bring some real life to this album. After the time off I had no idea what to expect but I think it's fantastic.
I don't know if Brand New fans even exist anymore.
I was unsure about this album at first but it really grew on me, especially Spider Bites. I'm probably one of the few who have no problem with the production.

I am still really enjoying it but I do feel, after multiple additional listens through the headphones in the yard, that it is compressed to an inch of it's life. I actually think it is a stellar record and am happy that it is ten tracks... 8-10 tracks, though totally random, just sits really well with me for a listen.
First listen with the headphones today and I had to actually turn the added bass down on my Walkman, the mix is really quite good.
That said, they left a click-track and some strange artifacts on Michigan, 1975 which was unfortunate. I don't dislike the original mix but seems like an odd oversight.
Fallon sounds great and there are additional vox all over the record that were just BURIED (even Springsteen!) in the original mix, very happy this got done. The acoustic Positive Charge is nice, it's a great tune but I would have taken a Brian solo version too; really enjoy those that I have heard. The acoustic History Books (the Boss song) comes across as absolutely beautiful, truly fantastic way to end a great album.
edit: with the acoustic additions I really hope Fallon is still in that mindset a bit and either writing with the rest of the band or solo, Local Honey and some of the quieter tracks on the other solo efforts are just phenomenal to me.
Love seeing the energy of promoting new music, sounds like he's in a good spot.
The songs are definitely vibing all over his influences that aren't the Boss
