I need new sneakers for treadmill/elliptical, plus post-run strength training. What you got RM?

Re: The Running Thread
I stopped running. The last time I did anything was a single ten minute mile on September 15, and before that was a 33 minute 5k on August 20. I am the weaklinglennytheweedwhacker wrote:Are you running 20 minute 5k's now, Asher?

I understand. You still biking or are you now fully bound to academic pursuits? The Argonaut wrote:I stopped running. Hit 190 bpm today, for about two full seconds
Seriously though, it’s a new record for me, and I got there much easier than I was hitting 180 a month ago

Re: The Running Thread
Peter Attia says that one of the best things you can do for your longevity is regularly perform a four-minute pace at your highest possible sustained heart rate. So in hitting 190bpm, I’m simultaneously aiming for a point where I can maintain four minutes around 170bpm (currently around 155).

Definitely not a disciple. He has some interesting insights. Generally I’m exercising for longevity and to ward off dementia, so on that particular front I like where his heads at
