I think it matters where you live. It’s frosty in MN.
68 at night.
70 during the day.
This is the last place I’ll cut costs in a crisis.

Sometimes on walks through my neighborhood I'll grab large fallen branches sorted on people's curbs. I use them in my fire pit. Recently, my wife saw me doing it and was weird about it. She thinks I should leave people's property alone, but these branches are clearly designated for lawn debris pickup days.

AITA?

Yeah, you're right. It's not like I haven't paid my dues with curb alert items from my garage already. Or my yard pecans.

Still, I'm betting her concerns stem at least in part from the commonplace practice of gun ownership on this side of town. My neighbors are friendly, but walking up on a house does hold an inherent risk, unfortunately.

No, I'm very careful and calculated when picking up branches. I only take the big risks on the chess squares, mate.

I just paid a guy with a wood chipper $250 to clear away a pile of branches. Where the heck were you?

you could've just used that $250 in cash for kindling and burned the entire pile. much more satisfying.

I only have a small fire pit; it would’ve involved a lot of work to cut them to size for prep. Also this tree had been submerged in lake water for a month so it stinks and I wanted it gone.

I’ve felt kinda weird about this before, but never think of it til it’s too late. I figure everyone working there is probably wearing the stuff too.

My friend Julio asked why there were hygiene products in the bathroom. I got flustered and mentioned something about respecting women and periods being cool. The associate producer laughed and mentioned it was his entertainment and my loss. I'm thinking I might be ill-informed, but I haven't really asked her yet. She wants to bring friends over, all with girl names. My girlfriend chuckled at something the associate producer said, which I didn't hear. The associate producer kept asking me "what the fuck?" all day, ragging on me. I bought some period stuff and a gender-neutral music speaker for the bathroom to hide noises. My friend Julio hung out at my house and mentioned she'd like to come more often. I told my girlfriend it was for my friend Julio, thinking it'd be cool. She just said, "Ok." Now I'm wondering, what are your thoughts?
