Can we agree to start fresh when the album gets announced. We may otherwise find ourselves embarrassed by our lesser selves as we dragged in this waiting game.

I'm listening to Earthlings, and Watt does a great job of capturing the warmth and 'it's all going to be okay' empathy that's Eddie's magic. I can't wait to hear how he sounds on the album.

Earthling is perhaps the worst sounding album I force myself to listen to because there are compositional and performative aspects I really enjoy

I’m glad you’re confident. I am super worried he’s gonna gloss the hell out of it. Earthling has a rather plastic-y sound, and the drums are downright terrible.

I hope wotman’s value was in pushing the guys to push themselves creatively, sonically, and with tempo. But frankly I hope they pushed him to let Josh Evans mix and master. Give me the warmth of Binaural with the crisp high mids of Vitalogy (I realize Josh was involved in neither record but I think he could achieve this balance).

I wouldn’t mind them having the warmth of No Code, which to me is the high bar for the sound of a Pearl Jam album.

Come to think of it, No Code - Binaural is a pretty warm run. Three consecutive outstanding albums, with their best record sandwiched in the middle.

wotman’s warmth will doubtless be fleeting much like the temporary pleasant warmth of urine in one’s pants, when one urinates in their pants, that rapidly devolves into shameful cold
