Finally got around to watching No One Will Save You. I really enjoyed it, wish we got more of this kind of well-made 90 minute potboilers.

Has anyone seen this one? Thoughts?
I know it's not super expensive, but I'm torn between renting or buying.

LA Confidential last night. One of those movies on my list of things that I should really get around to seeing one day.

I loved everything about this movie. A slow starter, but once the thread started getting pulled on each of the main characters, it paid off in dividends. And who doesn't love that '50s Hollywood hard boiled aesthetic?

You ain't lying. Such a random looking filmography. This guy directed 8 Mile?

I haven't been posting in this thread much lately, so here's the last 21 movies I've watched.

Once Upon ... Hollywood
Warrior
Stalag 17
Fall
Saltburn
John Wick 4
Bad Santa
Play Misty for Me
St Valentine's Day Massacre
To Catch a Thief
Class Action
Die Hard 2
Joker
Poor Things
Sneakers
The Favourite
The Man Who Knew Too Much (1934)
The Witch
Beau is Afraid
Scarface (1932)
Total Recall
Casino

Some great movies in there.

Scarface, Play Misty for Me and St Valentine's Day Massacre were movies I watched with my parents and I enjoyed all 3 of them. St Valentine's Day Massacre was probably the best of those 3.

Warrior was surprisingly good, I really like Joel Edgerton.

Total Recall, The Witch, Bad Santa, The Joker and Once Upon a Time were rewatches. I enjoyed The Witch a lot more on second viewing. I think it really caught me off guard in the theater and I may have been influenced by the fact that the people I saw it with didn't like it.

It would be tough to pick a favorite from the list, but it would probably be one of Casino, Once Upon a Time, Total Recall or Poor Things (fuck you, Argo)

I enjoyed it. Great cast (I'm a sucker for Robert Redford), it moves pretty quickly and it's got some good laughs. Nothing mind blowing, but an entertaining watch.

That’s a good list of movies, and sensible choices for the favorites.

Pretty crazy opening 15 minutes. Clint's character rode into town, murdered three guys and then raped a woman.

Society of the Snow. Anybody else watch this shit? The crash scene was very well done. I've never watched Alive but I'd be curious to compare the two.

Seems everyone is loving it; but I don’t really care to see it. I also never saw Alive!, but I’m sure it’s the better movie.

It wasn't shit. It wasn't stupendous, but the crash scene was great and it holds together emotionally. Not a bad movie
