First teaser post for Gig on social media was….1/10/20.

Tomorrow's the 10th...

I guess this new record will be a “logical extension” of Gig if we get a teaser tomorrow.

It takes 4 years to make the logical extension.

every pearl jam album is in some way a response to the one before it - either an evolution or a reaction. its one of the things that makes their catalog interesting

Absolutely, that was a great album. But does Andrew Watt producing temper your expectations? Listening to Earthling again and it’s so loud. Gigaton had a balance between that power but with better sonics. I hope that working PJ means that element is not allowed to minimise everything around it.

I hope for less pop gloss and more dynamics than Earthling, but as long as it's less shiny and robotic than Lightning Bolt I'll be happy; I'm not against a little squeaky clean production if it makes a rhythm section shine, for example; I don't know, I'm in the middle in terms of expectations and I just wanna hear that single because I think it'll indicate how the rest will sound (one issue I have with Lightning Bolt is the inconsistency; it has a sonic identity crisis, whereas I think that's less of a problem on Earthlings)

I really like Earthling and yes, its a very loud album. My main issue with the sound is the mix and the drums´s sound. Gigaton has a great mix and a great drum´s sound while LB had the worst drum sound of any pj albums.

Mike has said this album is a heavier album. With more solos from him. That makes me excited.
