Within a couple of weeks, perhaps as early as next week, the first single from Pearl Jam’s new still untitled studio album will be released.

The first single, called Wrecker, will include two songs, both featured in the tracklist of the new album. The first track is described a “straight ahead rocker”, while the second song, titled Dark Matter, is an acoustic ballad.

The band’s new record, their twelfth, produced by Andrew Watt, is rumored be released in the first half of this year.

“Straight ahead rocker” and “accoustic ballad” are the most generic descriptions for songs ever. I would assume it’s not that cut and dry but I guess we’ll see…if it’s true.
