Thank you. Is there much precedent for sports shows casually playing unreleased songs? Couldn't it have been just one of those generic "energetic guitar music" tracks you can license off Audio Jungle for 15 bucks? Those rarely appear on Shazam

See above. They are still, and have always been, the real Pearl Jam by the only standard that matters- their own as a band that is still producing music. If they had a major shift in personnel, I could see this argument, but literally 4/5 of the band has always remained the same. And let's not act like Dave A. was the the heart and soul of the band. He was a good drummer who barely wrote anything. He was basically the best case scenario for a session drummer, especially considering that his ideals were out of wack with the rest of the band. To act like his absense has stolen the band's authenticity is silly.

You are still acting like it's self-evident that your argument is correct. The only fact here is that Pearl Jam diverged from your vision of good music. Can't Deny Me is a song by Pearl Jam. The real Pearl Jam. Many of us think it's one of their absolutely lesser songs. Doesn't change that. You think adding Dave A. results in a band that never records a clunker? That seems preposterous.

Just heard it. Def sounds like them esp Matt's generic PJ playing.

QOTSA pushed The Way.... on sports shows a fortnight or so before release 5 years ago.

The taking down of links plus the listening party post seems to indicate February/March rollout and release.

Always keen for new PJ. May not be good but it's always a ride.
